Team OS has placed first place in the BSG Clan war/ tourney hosted by eSports SG with location sponsors Aftershock PC.

Team OS has placed first place in the BSG Clan war/ tourney hosted by eSports SG with location sponsors Aftershock PC.

The matches were intense and close, stress levels were certainly high in the Aftershock PC LAN.

Team OS took their first series vs ToR with a 5-3, with OSSGS taking 1 game off and OSL0rd taking the other 4 to close it out in the BO9 all kill.

The finals were truly intense as Team OS's ReneGade took the first map and then lost the second. OSL0rd was sent in and he finished the entire series for Team OS to win it 4-1 in the BO7 all kill.

OSL0rd has made an impressive run without dropping a single map in the entire tournament to have a record of 7-0

Thanks to Aftershock PC, who despite us having to drag on the tournament longer, they without a word allowed us to continue usage of their awesome computers late into the night.

Thanks to eSports SG for their tremendous undertaking in organizing and planning this event with their admins doing a fantastic job making the games run as smoothly as possible. Despite the long day, they kept up their enthusiasm and made sure the tournament was run as professionally and and smooth as possible. None of this would have happened if it weren't for their valiant efforts. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful event.

Thanks to the amazing casters who used their schedule and time to cast the games for us with utmost joy and passion. Again, despite the delays and the long day, they persevered on to bring the audience the best. Kudos to you guys.

Thanks to the amazing players who all showed their might and played to the best of their abilities to give some really exciting games to watch and cast. You guys are awesome and we would love to hang out and play some games one day!

Thank you also to you the viewers cheering on your favorite side to do their best and win. Without you guys, tournaments like this will never be the same.

Thanks to also Texas chicken for the wonderful vouchers. I'm sure we wont go hungry anytime soon!

Last of all and not the least, thanks to everyone who I did not mention, no matter what you did, this event could not have gone better without you guys,

Cheers,
Team OS

IEM Singapore Report, departure of OSNeon

IEM Singapore, SITEX 2012 Day #1
Day 1 of IEM Singapore saw the open brackets with players like Australian Zerg Mafia, a $300,000 dollars professional poker winner and recent WCS Oceania 2nd placer behind Australian Zerg mOOnGLaDe, Fanatic’s Oz, LucifroN, Team liquid’s Zenio all progressing to the main event. You can see the full brackets and players here. Many close matches and with Mafia taking down LucifroN as a surprise, this could be the time that Mafia really shines and shows his skill, brining the SEA section of Starcraft 2 to greater heights as being capable of producing world class players. Of course the prime scenario would be a SEA player wining IEM Singapore.
A large multitude of players advance but there are hardly any or no Terran players at all which shows the Zerg and Protoss dominance in the IEM league especially here in IEM Singapore. Casting was done by Artosis, Khalaris and HasuObs on the first day today and the games were nothing short of fantastic. Great games, great players, great tournament.
Regardless of it being a Thursday, there is a whole flood of people at Sitex with many companies and products on sale. From complex items like camera lenses, to specific items like particular computer parts to the basic things such as cables or converters, almost everything can be found here and often bundled with other things plus at a reasonably cheap price. Large Singapore telecom companies here have the biggest booths, Starhub has over 20 slots for customers to purchase telecom deals and customer service, Singtel and M1 alike also have large sections for customers to have access to them.
Crowded it may be, but the deals here and the sheer amount of things you can purchase here is just too great to miss out on. With conventional and promotional sales going with accordance to the Esports atmosphere that IEM Singapore brings, Sitex 2012 is something no IT or gaming enthusiast should miss!

Day 2 at Sitex and IEM saw the continuation of large companies selling their products at very interesting prices and a multitude of items give away for low prices or free. IEM gave out several of their Intel sponsor items such as i5 and i7 processors of the highest power. BenQ, one of the sponsors of IEM, gave out T-shirts, soft toys and even Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm beta keys to the audience is a simple and hilarious game of rock, paper, scissors with one of Meet Your Makers (A League of Legends team that dominated their group with just phenomenal play) player who, as I watched on gleefully, was really terrible at it. On the first attempt, an audience member walked away with a Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm beta key, BenQ soft toys and T-shirt signed by Starcraft 2 pro-gamer Grubby and an Intel i7 processor all by just winning rock paper scissors!
League of Legends started early on the main stage from 11am onwards till 5pm in the evening where then the Starcraft 2 group stages commenced with players from the open bracket also competing. Full results can be seen here and the highlights of the day for me was the matches that were played on the main stage. Do note that games are still being played despite not being on the main stage and I didn’t really get the chance to watch all of them. However some matches where very prominent with some upsets and the triumphs as they were pretty much predicted. Pig, an Australian Zerg player played fantastic but eventually got eliminated from the tournament. White-Ra, seemingly the one who could do big upsets on high level players fell 0-3 in his group to be eliminated. Grubby was one of the more prominent players as predicted by Artosis to potentially shine and win the tournament, but in a shocking series against Fanatic’s Oz in the 3rd game of their best of three, forgot thermal lance to then lose the game and give Fanatic’s Oz the 2:1 win over him.  Renaming tournaments can be seen on the ESL_TV stream VODs and results on the website state earlier.
Sitex has really made a fantastic decision by allowing IEM to be hosted at their event; it really brings up the Esports scene in Singapore, giving us a taste of the thrills of such an event of Esports like IEM.

Day 3 was epic at IEM with the League of Legend’s finals going on. The game was pretty close with analyzers predicting the score to be a 2-0 with Meet Your Makers (MYM) winning it, but surprisingly Absolute Legends NA (ALS) actually got 1 game off MYM in dominating fashion during game 2. Despite an epic baron steal on game 2 by MYM ALS took the game. The last game was won by MYM as they simply rolled over the ALS to claim their first decisive win on the international stage for League of Legends.
Starcraft 2 was also on a high roll with matches today played by Grubby, Zenio, VortiX and MC as well as some more players. The highlight was the surprising upset of YugiOh losing 2-3 to Sting (who was at that time the only remaining Terran in the tournament) and the simply epic PvP between MC and Grubby. MC took the first game on Entombed Valley and Grubby surprisingly took 2 games off MC to lead 2-1 on maps Daybreak and Cloud Kingdom. MC then took another game off Grubby in Ohana, the game then moved on to Metropolis where people, after watching the series, said that the last game these 2 fantastic Protosses played was possibly the best PvP ever. Both opened with Stargate into Phoenix play which resulted in some major air micro war well into the late game with identical decisions made. Grubby went ahead and had more expansions, better economy, and better upgrades for the Phoenix and Archons in the battle to win the game.
With that, an amazing League of Legends final and such fantastic series of games on the Starcaft 2 side, day 3 at IEM was certainly well worth watching.

The final day of Sitex and the IEM saw ridiculous promotions from the companies and the phenomenal Starcarft 2 finals.
Definitely the player to watch was Grubby as he, like Artosis predicted, showed what he is capable of and what he can do. On the match after sLivko won the series against Team Liquid’s Zenio to advance to the semifinals against Grubby, these two players had such a rivalry and for them to be this close to be in a major tournament’s finals plus potentially winning it, the stakes were incredibly high. Things looked grim for Grubby stepping into the match having lost to sLivko in the group stages previously. It got worse as sLivko with his standard style of play, extreme mastery of late game broodlord infestor, took the first 2 games against Grubby and was on match point to potentially win the entire series with a 3-0 to Grubby. On the next map Ohana, Grubby pulled out a build he used in the Blizzard World Championship that has served him so well, a 7 gate all in. Performing it perfectly and with sLivko not scouting the all in, Grubby took game 3. Game 4 was then on Cloud Kingdom with Grubby playing absolutely incredibly with perfect decision making, perfect engagements, perfect harassment to the point where despite sLivko having over 4000 minerals and gas in his bank, due to Grubby’s incredible mutli-prong warp-prim harass that killed off all the hatcherys and tech, Grubby took the game. The last game saw Grubby pulling out the 7 gate all in again and rolled over sLivko to win this epic best of 5 and an amazing comeback.
Previously Sting had progressed through VortiX and will face Grubby in one of the most epic finals. Again Grubby was down 2 games to the Terran’s solid macro and decision making. On game 3 it seemed that the Terran was about to win 3-0, but on the next map Cloud Kingdom, Grubby did some phenomenal micro with a blink stalker push and some amazing decision making that made Sting lose the game to bring it to a game 4. Game 4 saw Grubby losing all his immortals and sentrys to a pincer movement that was done so brilliantly by Sting. The engagement late on with 5 colossi killed was another major setback for Grubby, but by the skin of his teeth and a clutch colossus, he won the game to pull it to a game 5 with the crowd simply exploding in joy. Game 5 opened with a proxy gate from Grubby that killed 5 workers and pulled Grubby ahead, but a 111 all in that served as retaliation from Sting brought Grubby down and Sting was soon crowned as the IEM Singapore winner.
The crowd at IEM was simply amazing and the passion that I could feel by just sitting there with them was electrifying. I highly believe Singapore has the potential to be a major Esports gaming hub in SEA to bring players from both local and international stages here to compete and to also put some home grown talent into the international limelight.
Sitex was very generous for allowing IEM to be able to be part of their amazing convention and the promotions plus things you can get there was certainly well worth the trip and time.
I’d like to end off this with thanks to Sitex and IEM. Amazing event, amazing players, amazing games, amazing organizers. This is Esports.

Review: Steelseries Sensei Gaming mouse

Hey guys, as you all should have seen if you keep up with the Youtube channel, I have just gotten a new mouse, the Steelseries Sensei Gaming mouse. Recommended by Ivan (NaviC) our team coach and after much extensive researching, I finally decided the get it and am now doing a review after I've used it for awhile.

Experience
So far so good. So far, so fantastic actually. This mouse has been absolutely fantastic. I was a bit skeptical at first, but soon after a few games of Stacraft, Diablo and Counter strike online, this was simply amazing. The feel of the mouse is really really nice and it fits really nicely despite my fingers being a little short and my hand rather stubby. A small annoyance is probably the buttons at right side of the mouse (if you're a right hand person), I tend to press them sometimes while browsing the internet and it goes back one page if you press that or forward. Eventually I got used to it so its pretty much fine now. For gaming wise I have no key programmed to it so even if i do hit it, it doesn't affect the game.

About the mouse
Here are some specs and details of the mouse:
Weight: 102g
Height: 38.7mm
Length: 125.5mm
Width: 68.3mm
Dpi range: Default (1-5700), double usage (5701-11400)
Laser sensor: 10.8 megapixel HD image correlation up to 12,000 fps (150 inches/s movement speed)
5 Macro buttons (comes with steelseries engine software that can program these buttons and etc)
16% of bottom of mouse is glide pads
18 million different colour combinations
Plug and play system
PC/Mac compatible
Bottom of mouse contains LED screen to put names/logos etc
Braided cable

Advantages
Well most of the good stuff I have placed at the experience section, go read that up. But anyway I'll break down any other things to do a proper full on review on this.

Of course height, weight, length etc don't really matter as much, maybe except the detentions to the mouse for your hand, but its mainly calibrated to an average hand size so you should be pretty fine. Even if you're not average, it should still be totally fine to use. For example my hand is rather small and wide, but it fits really nicely and feels really good.

The Dpi range is completely absurd. Not only is there one Dpi sensor, there's 2, cranking the total possible Dpi range from 1-11400 Dpi. 11400 Dpi? That is bloody INSANE. Steelseries have said the extra Dpi range is for multiple connected screens that form one single image. Like 1 game spread out to occupy 3 screens, then you might need the high Dpi.

The laser sensor is also exceptional. Responsive to the millisecond like all gaming mouses.

The glide pad at the bottoms are rather interesting. My old Razer Lachesis had like 8% of glide pads at the bottom, this as 16%. Its sure to help it last longer as well as further reduce friction. Really good call by Steelseries to add the extra amount of glide pads.

18 million colours is really a lot of colours. So pretty much all your favorite colours should be available. It illuminates the mouse wheel, the small dot behind the CPI button below the mouse wheel, and of course, the most obvious, the Steelseries logo at the very back of the mouse where your palm would be. Really nice aesthetics by Steelseries.

Another interesting thing is that you can download something called the "Steelseries engine" which allows the utmost full customization of the mouse. Full as in everything full. The rate, colour, dpi all in precise numbers down to the decimal all at your disposal. Very nice program to have there.

The plug and play system also is great if you're an outgoing Lan gamer or playing in offline tournaments where downloading and installing a software may be a hassle to do so.

Standard braided cable for keeping your wires nice and neat.

DisadvantagesNot much really. Price tag is pretty high thou. Costing around 120-160 (SGD) depending on where you get it is a pretty darn heavy price tag for a gaming mouse. But hey, you get what you pretty much pay, although fixing it at 120 would be really nice.

This mouse is pretty much designed for almost all grip types, however i find that people that grip the mouse in a whole would have some problems as the buttons are quite annoying. If you're using my grip type, which is like using the bone below the thumb as the pivot point for the mouse movement and using mostly your wrist to push and pull the mouse to position it, its perfect for you.

The grip is a bit off thou. The smooth finishing is a nice aesthetic design from Steelseries but it reduces grip on the mouse for people with small hands especially. It would be nicer if they had some parts that the hand mainly keep in contact with the mouse having some high grip padding to prevent the mouse from slipping or for users feeling that the mouse might slip out anytime soon resulting in the need to hold the mouse tighter and using more force that what is required resulting in higher levels for fatigue, especially in high level tournaments.

ConclusionWould I recommend it? If you have the money to burn or between a Razer mouse, get this. Its a really fantastic mouse and it has been a sheer joy using it. Definitely worth considering if you're planning to get a high end gaming mouse.

Review: Astro A50

Here it is! The Astro A50 Review! I know some of you have been waiting for awhile for this and I apologize for the delay, but either way, lets dive into this!

Astro A50
Some General info:
The Astro A50s were announced on  E3 recently this year by Astro Gaming and so far they have been received with really positive feedback. If you're comparing this to an A40 or A30 and or just looking for a wireless headset as a viable option for gaming, you may be pretty impressed with this. Here are some of the features of the A50:
-Completely wireless with a 5.8 GHz frequency to minimize interference with things like wireless internet, Xbox 360 wireless controllers etc
-Dolby digital 7.1 surround sound
-Multi-system compatibility, able for use on PC, Xbox or PS3
-Weight: 363 grams (0..81lbs)
-Over ear cupping
-6.0mm uni-direction nice canceling mic nondetachable and mutes when lifted up
-Battery life 12 hours
-Built in to the headset is Astro's revolutionary Mixamp system with voice and game balance plus volume
-Modes that can be selected on the Astro A50 to balance out the sound, currently there are only 3 modes, Gaming mode, Media mode (music, movies etc) and normal mode (much like just how default A40s sound like)
-Comes with Mixamp 5.8 receiver module compatible only with Astro A50 headsets, Astro A50 headset, 2 USB wires (one for charging and one for playing or connection to PC via USB), stand for your headset (refer to picture above)

Breakdown
Sound: Starting with the most important aspect. Sound, the A50s certainly deliver the quality you paid for. While experiencing Battlefield 3 with it i was blown away by how amazing it sounds, especially if the gaming mode is on. Gun sounds sound crisper and explosions have that after shock low deep base effect that just makes the whole game sound fantastic. Footsteps are easily heard and all that on 7.1 surround sound. Simply amazing. As compared with the Astro A40 the difference is quite minute, however it can be felt and its awesome.

Weight: While slightly heavier than the A40s, the extra padding on the A50s make the headset still extremely comfortable. No problems there

Customizability: Unlike the Astro A40s, the speaker tags are non-existent in this headset, leaving you with pretty much just the default design from Astro. That is rather unfortunate.

Battery life: Definitely an area of concern for wireless headset users. While Astro Gaming may claim that it lasts 12 hours, from my usage it only lasts about 10 hours on a single charge. While not meeting the supposed time to last, 10 hours is still a long time. Especially with a headset quality like this.

Build quality: Identical to the A40s design build quality is again exceptional with metal parts encasing the wire that loops over to connect the top of the headset to the left and right ear muff. Amazing build quality really. Love it.

Noise cancellation: Some external sound can still be heard to be quite annoying however it does muffle out most of the noise to be good enough for general use. I wouldn't try to go to a firing range with these.

Microphone: Standard uni-directional noise cancellation makes it great for general talking via Xbox live, PSN or PC. Wouldn't use it for commentaries thou (mostly because i have a condenser mic already). Mic auto mutes when lift up to the vertical position. Great for gaming use as you don't need to fumble around for a mute button when you need to.

Price: At 300 USD it is rather expensive. Along with most other Astro gaming equipment. I wouldn't pay 300 dollars for this but I would. To put it simply its a mixed opinion on whether I would pay that amount of money. Maybe if it was like 280 I will buy it, but 300 is rather costly, however the system is actually quite worth the amount. The opinion therefore falls upon you.

Conclusion: Overall fantastic headset and definitely something you should check out if you're consider high quality, high end wireless gaming headsets.  Score? 9/10. Well done Astro Gaming. Another fantastic headset yet again.

Review: Astro A40 gaming headset

Yep its time for the review of the Astro A40 headset.
As you can see on the right that is a picture of my Astro A40s i just got from the US and i know the bed sheet is cool and all, no need for you to compliment it. On a serious note thou, that is the Astro A40 white gaming headset. Just the headset itself with the mic attached and the custom speaker tags (magnetic plate things that stick to the side much like the Astro A30s i reviewed sometime back) which has the Team logo and my name on it. Pretty cool huh? Astro allows customization for speaker tags done by yourself and it costs about 20 USD. If not, as you can see the default black Astro speaker tags on the right, is the one you're going to get. Attached with it is a mic that slides up if you dont want to use it.
NOTE: Only the Astro A40 and A30s can have custom speaker tags, the new Astro A50s are NOT customizable at all.

If you want to see the unboxing video click here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3K9tAN-llQ&list=UUhklIPkDImVCP2ya14Oal-A&index=1&feature=plcp

Now lets dig into this bad boy.

What it comes with:
-1 Astro A40 Headset (DUH), either black or white (your choice)
-Standard quick disconnect cables that go to a 3.5mm headset male and mic male output
-Standard female 3.5mm headset and mic into a single mic and headset female 3.5mm output
Thats it.
Pretty standard uh?

So tell me more, what features does it have?
Basically its a fully cupped ear headset, meaning that i covers your entire ear blocking out as much sound as possible without a battery run vacuum soundproof headset or the kinds used for firing guns as ear protection. It is very comfortable with sufficient padding to minimize the strain on your head. Its quite heavy as it is a rather large headset but the padding helps to make the weight negligible. It compresses around your head so it pretty much stays there, not to the point where it feels like there's a lack of blood to your face. The mic that comes with it bendable and allows quite a large degree if adjustment to it. Quality wise its quite good. Can be heard clearly over Xbox live and PC (although i do use a condenser mic and a audio mixer for everything voice related except Xbox live). Made of plastic mainly and the sides that you can adjust the headset length is made from metal. Exceptional build quality, dosent feel cheap at all (well considering I did pay quite alot duh it dosent feel cheap). The cables given are sufficient for home PC use and music player use also, although to reconnect the headset to the long wire that becomes the male mic and headset output into a female mic and headset converter to a single male headset and mic 3.5mm jack is rather weird and rather long. I wouldn't bring it out for use on a music player or phone. Unless you have the phone converter cable that comes with the A30 headset which i of course, have. So lucky me. Sound quality is great. For general use this would be overkill. Gaming wise its pretty much one of the most dope headsets ever, try battlefield 3 with it and be blown away. Music wise also pretty decent, base is good and no static at all. An absolute wonder indeed.

Its cool and all, but are there drawbacks?
Not much but there are some drawbacks. The quick disconnect cable that Astro designed for their headsets is smart and they did give a converter to it for multiple uses, but if you just want to connect to something it can be quite a hassle to find that cable. Unlike most headset where by default its a 3.5mm male jack out, but still cant complain. The Astro A40s have magnetic speaker tags at the side and there's a little gap that causes the headset to "whistle" a bit when you have wind blowing into it. Not much of an issue if you play indoors without a fan, but it can get quite annoying. Again I would have loved a proper sound proof headset. Sure it does cancel out much of the sound, but a completely sound proof headset would be nice. Then there's the price. At 199 USD its sure not cheap. High end headsets like this of course would cost alot.

Thats not too bad, its it worth then?
Yes and no. Yes in that if you really have the cash to burn and want a really nice high end gaming headset that looks fantastic at the same time, sure, by all means i encourage you to get it. Oh and please be a "stay at home and game" gamer. Tournament wise is also fine but you don't wana go out with these to just listen to music. Not that practical if you ask me. LAN cafe is still fine. No if you don't have the money to burn and if you still want a decent gaming headset, this might be over decent, don't get this, its not something in your line of sight if you ask me.You're better off with something cheaper and can get a pretty decent quality headset, additionally you can get one that you can bring it out and hear you music, plus save a few dollars for that meal you planned on treating your girlfriend with.

A pretty short review, Astro A50s arriving soon! P.S its not mine, my friend's. So don't worry I'm not rich. He has kindly allowed me to unbox it and review it for him. How wonderful of him! Well its late now, like 12am to be exact as I'm typing this on my dope keyboard. Dad nagging me to sleep. See you dudes and keep up to date with the blog and the Youtube channel!

Some pretty big news

Hey guys what is up, SlayerL0rd here. I got some pretty big news regarding AzuRe and Team OS so do pay attention.

As of today the process of handing over AzuRe Clan to Cheesepie will begin and I will no longer be the Leader of AzuRe anymore. However there are several agreements made:
-This site will be under Team OS
-The Youtube channel of AzuRe will be under Team OS and managed by SlayerL0rd
-SlayerL0rd will occasionally upload AzuRe Clan content, but it will be mainly Team OS
-Twitter account for AzuRe will be handed over
-Facebook page of AzuRe will be deleted
-All media formerly under AzuRe will be either handed over to SlayerL0rd or created newly by the new AzuRe Clan

So where do I go? (SlayerL0rd)
I will be then dedicating full time to Team OS to play professionally along with other fellow Team members.

Wait a sec, so whats the difference between a Team and a Clan?
A Team is professional based and is very serious about gaming, unlike a clan where its more of fun and bonding through games, a team is objective based.

So what about AzuRe?
It will be handed over to one of the former founders Cheesepie and he will carry the torch from there.

Team OS, what is it about?
Like I said earlier its about professional gaming to the highest degree and we will do our best to make it. Our main game is Starcraft 2 currently.

Minus the marketing, here is the review.

Here's how im going to break down this review. Starting with the list on top and then my own added things.

Processor:
A 2.4 GHz intel core i5 is a very basic processor. Sufficient for most things like gaming with low graphics and decent at rendering things, problem is when rendering videos the computer heats up really fast. Pretty standard stuff. From a gamer's perspective this likely wouldn't work out for you. Processing power is at the bare minimum to run Starcraft 2 on lowest graphics settings possible and live streaming on Xsplit. It laggs quite horrendously when I'm live streaming. So from here you can roughly judge how much power does the processor has. But for work wise it is more than sufficient to run things like Java or flash player and internet browsers with multiple tabs on. Additionally with probably music and anti-virus running it still runs smoothly.

Memory: 4GB of RAM is pretty much the norm nowadays and its sufficient for most things except gaming. Accompanied along with a 540GB (mine is 540 GB) hardrive that is sufficient for more non-gaming uses.

Graphics: Currently mine has only the intel HD 3000 graphics card and that will run Starcraft 2 on low with about 60+ FPS which is alright. The moment you crank up one notch it drops to about 20-30 FPS quite a dramatic drop. Software like photoshop and such can run smoothly on the mac but start to really eat up the processor when it comes to rendering things as mentioned earlier.

Additional info: Comes with a pretty standard optical drive but when inserting some CDs into the drive for installing software sometimes it doesn't read which is pretty damn annoying.

Wireless wi-fi capability is pretty impressive with me being able to upload videos and play multiplayer plus live stream almost as fast on LAN, although of course LAN would still be faster.

A HD built in webcam at the top is sufficient to see clear enough for skype calls and such but lacks in being able to adjust to lighting conditions and focus.

Side ports only has 2 USBs which is enough for a mouse and possibly your phone connector for general use. For gamers that is completely insufficient. I had to buy a USB 4 port splitter  for my mouse, keyboard (my keyboard uses 2 USB ports), my USB mixer, webcam and sometimes my HDPVR video recorder. So of course its not enough. For gamers thou I'd advise you get an external keyboard and attach it to the mac instead of playing on the mac keyboard itself, its really small and really hard to play on. Also one headset/mic port so you need an integrated headset with a mic and headset port in one single 3.8mm jack for it to work. One standard LAN port and Apple's side port of thunderbolt integration plus a port that you can plug into with a converter to allow for an additional HDMI or VGA port out to another monitor. Standard port for charging and that's about it. All in all, for work its sufficient as mentioned so many times before, for gaming its a pain to use.

One cool but in significant thing is that the keys on the mac are a bit backlit so you can use them easily in the dark or low light conditions.

Display wise its really nice with HD movies and all playing really nicely on the 13inch 1280x800 display. Not exactly the standard size ratio for typical monitors.

Comes with also Apple's Lion OS which is a breeze to use for even inexperienced users and you can partition the hardrive and run windows. I wouldn't recommend running in parallel as the computer's processors and such wont be able to handle it and you sacrifice alot of the performance for running in parallel.

Battery wise it lasts for approximately 2 hours and running games on it will lower the battery life to about an  hour so do find a socket if you plan to game.

Portability wise its relatively light and can be easily carried around no problem, a good plus for work.

Price:
It cots 1.6k USD. Yep. That is very expensive. Although it will last you a pretty long time still i dont think the investment is worth. I might consider buying it for 1.2k at most. The reason why I own and use and play on a macbook pro is because I got mine for 800 dollars SGD which is by far a steal. Not everyone is this lucky so seriously, even if you do have the money to burn, you should get the 15 inch macbook pro which has i7 quad core processors along with a Radieon graphics card that can run alot of games on pretty high graphics smoothly along with also engineering software as such that require large amounts of processing power and a powerful graphics card.

Conclusion:
Would i recommend this? For work? Maybe, the price is a bit too high. For gaming? A complete no.

Review: Razer Blackwiddow Ultimate gaming mechanical keyboard

Hey guys what is up! SlayerL0rd here. Its been awhile since i did a review. So here is my review of the Razer Blackwiddow ultimate gaming mechanical keyboard.

Yes and as in accordance with most of my reviews, I do own one of these and used it before. In fact in using it now to type  out this review!

Alright lets get down to it. As usual i'm keeping things simple with just a low down on the advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages
As with any mechanical gaming keyboard the obvious advantage is of course its mechanical keys. The difference between normal keyboards and mechanical ones is that normal keyboards have a rubber based background, meaning your keys return back to the original position due to the rubber elasticity. Eventually the rubber will wear down resulting you needing to press the keys with a little more force sometimes and it doesn't have that tactile feel anymore so its like typing on wood which doesn't bounce back. As for mechanical gaming keys they use what we call "Cherry mechanical" keys which are split into 3 colours for different types of tactile feedback "feels". The blackwiddow uses the blue Cherry keys which give the most tactile feel but are noisy as hell (i don't mind cause i love that sound) and are in the middle range of durability. Blue Cherry keys last for approximately 10 million keystrokes with Red keys also 10 million and Black keys at a staggering 50 million keystrokes (Keystrokes are essentially how many times you can click on that single key). Which is quite a lot technically speaking. Why are they so durable? That is because unlike rubber keyboards which use the rubber layer to repel the keys back to the original position, mechanical keys use a spring behind the key. As shown the by the above animation/ picture. Another advantage is the extra "macro" keys at the side of the keyboard. "Macro" keys are blank keys that don't do anything till you program them to. For example you could program the key to shut down the computer and just sabotage whoever's computer is being used at the time just by pressing that key. Its useful to certain extent and are best used in MMORPG or RPG games which you can program spells and skills into the keys. For the Razer Blackwiddow ultimate and the standard edition 5 programmable macro keys are available for your disposal. Next its the layout of the keyboard. Not much of a difference here with mostly everything the same. A small difference is how spaced out the keys are, the shape of the keys which are shaped in a concave design for maximum comfort and the top F1 keys are all shifted to the right a little to allow your finger to rapidly press it without the traditional problem where the F1 key is so left, often leaving you having to press it with your unfamiliar ring finger. Additionally the Razer Blackwiddow ultimate also comes in your flashy gamer backlit keys with a very nice shade of blue and each individual key lit up for your pleasure (minus the space bar key and the function key for programming the macro keys on the fly). There is a function key that has attached media buttons to allow music playback etc and also the ability to control the lighting of the keys. You can adjust the lighting of the keys from no light, to a little light, lots of light and a pulsing light which makes the keys "glow". Although i have to say the way i expressed the level of lighting the keyboards allow its rather crude and somewhat near the context of horrible English, but I'm sure you can roughly understand what I'm trying to bring across here. There is also a gaming function key that disables the windows key so that you don't suddenly fly back to the desktop in the middle of a firefight when you press that key. Also to better suit gamers the keyboard has microphone and audio jacks as well as a USB port on the right side to allow your headset or earpiece with a mic or not to be inserted in there and not all the way to the back of your desktop or the front. I'm quite impressed that Razer actually considered that. Well done indeed. So that means you can plug the keyboard's microphone and headset jack into the back of the computer and connect your headset or earpiece to the keyboard instead of the back of the desktop reducing the frustration of messy cables at the back to unplug when you want to take your headset out or no need for extension of  cables because the wire is too short.

Disadvantages
As with anything in the world, nothing is perfect. So here are the cons about this beast of a keyboard. As it said earlier the keyboard is mechanical  and has durable keys, however I had this beast for about 4 months and magically, some of the keys were not working. So i sent it for an exchange and I'm guessing its probably a manufacturing problem instead of me breaking it, either way its a bit of a problem with the durability there but now I've got a completely new keyboard in exchange for about a week now and its working fantastic now. Another problem is the pricing. I got mine from my own supplier and he charged me SGD 172 which is pretty alright considering outside they sell it in between 199- 250. Honestly you don't spend over 160 in getting keyboard and I think its not exactly worth that price. Maybe if it were 150 or so then i would be more comfortable in purchasing it. However the standard edition of the Blackwiddow costs only 128! Whats the difference? No backlit keyboard. Thats all. For example a CS storm trigger mechanical gaming keyboard with almost everything that this keyboard has costs only 158. Another problem is the weight. If you're not going out often with it then it shouldn't hinder you that much but i do go out with my keyboard to friend places or the LAN to chill with some of my bros, it weights like 3-4 kg and that isn't exactly light.

Conclusion
Overall though would i recommend this? Yes if you have the cash to burn, if not, the standard edition would do well and give you the same experience as having the Ultimate version.

I hope this helps you guys in considering to get this keyboard and if you like these reviews do message or tell me via the Clan's twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/AzuReClan), my personal twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/SlayerL0rd) or you can email us at AzuReClanCrew@hotmail.com.

Refurbishment

Hey guys, as you all know, the clan has been extremely inactive since the day some of us and including me are busy preparing for major exams this year. Some of the members who are not having major exams are also very inactive and a few have already secretly declared that they quit. So im refurbishing the clan and kicking everyone out. Literately everyone. Past existing members will be given a notice on the facebook page and twitter and a 2 week period to contact me plus say they do still want to remain in the clan if not they will be kicked and with accordance with existing clan rules those kicked will not be allowed to rejoin the clan unless given special prior permission that will be dealt on a case by case basis. Thanks for all existing members who have contributed to the clan but now its time to keep things back on track before the clan goes down the drain as many others who have poor leadership and dedication resulting in the death of a clan.

Update and update vid

That basicly explains alot. For further elaboration. Its here.
Generally I wont be uploading videos as frequently as i usually do. Due to my major exams this which determine which collage i will probably go to, so i have to study like no tomorrow. Same goes for probably some of the other AzuRe members like SGSton, Fallensoul, Chalky, and Danz. However I will continue to upload videos. The set schedule is once a weekend. If I have excess video content, it will be uploaded on the weekend too in one bunch. If not, its just 1 video a week. The videos will go in order of what other missing episodes that I have not finished. Eg, weekend 1- Zombies, weekend 2- Minecraft, weekend 3- Endwar, weekend 4- Starcraft 2. Xbox content will be quite limited since firstly my gold has run out and there isnt any point of my playing or getting gold since i dont have time to play the Xbox. Either way, do stay tuned and about November end, awesome shit is gona happen with the reawakening of the Clan.
